It’s late, BUT THE BUG IS GONE!!! YESS! I managed to fix finally the great camera code I got from AS (thanks!!). It’s tracking so well, I should try and do some objects from these paths. Here’s a sneak preview of what’s coming up. Grow network, grow:)

Sons do Pensamento: it’s a show taking place in lisbon, at fábrica features, showing some projects from my arts programming course.

Some better resolution stills. This is running real-time @ 60 fps in hd land, so its very nice performance. better graphics to go with it, perhaps soon. It’s already sound responsive, the flow runs similar to intensities of ambient sounds.

This project is called sonic network where various density filaments combine in organic patterns that evolve a network in 3d, using sound input from the space to navigate around. Gonna show it soon!

Some studies i have been working on recently. Just got the network code to self-spawn, which is quite nice!, there are Agregados which develop Dendrónios, and Dendrónios link to new Agregados that keep building. Fun! This is when they begin..

And this is when there are some 8 nodes developing..

I will develop this further for a final project in my programming course. It’s already sound reactive, still have to fine tune how all the growth takes places and many more details! stay tuned!

I’ve been working on some simple programming concepts, trying to make evolutionary shapes emerge connections. By now i have all goodies in place:

- a class which grows from one point a line which keeps growing. nice for a start.

- then join many Dendrónios(the name of the class) and make them share the same vertex

-then let them grow!

I am refreshing my skills every week since january until july in a course called ‘O Som do Pensamento‘ by André Sier. It’s being fun and helpfull, processing is a wonderfull easy tool to work with, and to explore programming ideas. Nice. Here’s this weeks homework assigment:

sopra: my first interactive video

This is another selected project. My first interactive video! The purpose was to get a webcam static aiming at scene, and people moving in front of it control de speed of the video playback. Quite simple, and lots of fun.

First tests:

The person sits in front of camera and an animation of old wind blowers start blowing! Some heavy color processing going on also. It’s nice the relation is almost immediate. None tells where the camera is.

The piece is called sopra (which means blow) and some more of this images appear in a tiny 7” tv.
